Happy to be quoted here on WHYY about Philadephia’s forthcoming Community Composting Network, for which we were contracted to write the manual’s text! To clarify, the Community Composting Network will be very limited, and will be volunteer and participant based; it will NOT be a program for Philadelphia residents to drop off their food scraps. The limited participants in this forthcoming program will do all of the work themselves, at the network sites, to compost their food scraps. We are hopeful that the city will release more details and launch this program soon!
About Circle Compost
Food scrap and leaf pickup in Philadelphia. We work with residents and commercial accounts including daycares, coffee shops, restaurants, and offices, and we donate the compost we create to Philly's urban farms. Let's feed soil, not landfills.
