We were shocked and very upset to read recent news about high levels of PFAS chemicals in bagasse (sugarcane) based packaging products.

The issue has created a nightmare for restaurants like Chipotle and sweetgreen, who are truly innocent in these matters as they absolutely were under the assumption that these materials were 100% compostable.
Until we are confident that changes have been made to these products such that PFAS chemicals have been eliminated (and not replaced with other harmful, “forever” chemicals), we cannot accept bagasse / sugarcane based food service packaging.
